Description: The sculpture "Link of Humanity" depicts a universal symbol of generations of people united on our planet. The base is the foundation representing the beginning- the idea that humans are without flaws. However, every imperfect ring stacked, rising towards the sky is different, unique and imperfect in some way. There are cracks which let the light in that we all search and need. We can also see the land and the sea from both directions thanks to the void in each one. The circles bonded together represent strength and unity, yet diversity. The strength of the bronze represents resilience and perseverance. In times like today in the United States with so many people divided, this sculpture is a good reminder that we are all linked in spite of differences of opinion, race, color or origin. We are American and need to stand tall together united. The bronze has an iridescent patina which protects the bronze and is suitable for outdoors; it shimmers and changes color with the sun.
